Inglis To Head Up Climate Change Initiative
In 2010 Bob Inglis lost his U.S. House of Representatives seat, in part due to his stance on climate change. Now, Inglis is again addressing the issue with a new initiative at George Mason University.
Bob Inglis isn't running from his acceptance of climate change science and clean energy - some of the very issues that contributed to his ouster from the U.S. House of Representatives two years ago. In fact, he's started an initiative to explore those very issues even further.
The Greenville News reported that Inglis is now leading the new Energy and Enterprise Initiative at George Mason University, which will seek to provide politicians with a clear voice from their constituents on the real issue of human-induced climate change.
Central to the former representative's message is the focus on free enterprise clean energy solutions to climate change, including altering the current tax structure to aim for higher levies on things like pollution than simple wealth and earnings.

Inglis was a great guy. Hate to admit as a democrat I voted for him. I did not like everything he stood for, but he was fair. What we got in place of him does not even add up to the person Bob was. I am glad he is being successful in his new ventures. Thanks Bob, and all your great staff that helped me with a problem I had with the State Dept when my husband died. I worked with the State Dept for 4 months and could not get my husbands death claims resolved. Bob's office sent a message to the State Department giving them 3 days to resolve the problem....and they did ! Even though you were not my party of choice, you were really the party for the people. You voted and supported with your head and heart, not the partisan politics we are experiencing today. Thank you from the wife of the late John D Rendahl Senior Foreign Service Officer who proudly served 9 presidents and never found it honorable to be disrespectful. We Miss you Mr. Inglis Ann Coe Rendahl

Experts have told us we can't stop China & India from having cars. Which means we won't be able to stop the effects of climate change! Period, they don't care. And don't ignore that much of the west doesn't care either. The msg is all wrong. It should be about getting off oil! What's the incentive to those who can set the example, but won't because they don't believe the msg? NONE! It has to be a msg the MAJORITY can believe. The planet is going to do what it wants, no matter what. And yet the social & economic benefits of renewalable energies should be the focus. Information about cost to benefit ratios are nonexistent. Stop with the glass is half full. But rather the glass is half empty & we have to fill it up! You know historians have shown that the poles have been melting long before the industrial revolution. Its going to happengglass is half ehave to fill it up! SH

Have to agree with Harry. There have been other periods in the Earth's climate many times -- long before the industrialized world. Just one simple example: One volcano eruption can put more "pollution" into the air than all the industrialized world can for years. Long, long ago before any industrialization, there were far more volcanic eruptions in just one year when volcanoes were far more active. With all that pollution, I would guess there shouldn't be any ice left and everything should be flooded -- long before man would have had an opportunity to industrialize. Mother Earth has miraculously healed and survivied continuously!!!

Harry and Nee43 show a profound non-understanding of the earths historical temperature changes. Whie it is true that the earth seems to vacilate between ice ages and torrid ages, the change takes hundreds of thousands of years. There are "blips" in that distinction, such as the weather changes that took place when krakatoa erupted...but those are short term blips. The changing of the polar ice caps, the fact that you can now pass a ship over the north pole, the changing face of sea-based life HAS ALL HAPPENED IN ABOUT 52 YEARS...Even if you double my estimates, its still a spike very obviously caused by the emergence of the use of fossil fuels which brought us the industrial revolution. As Nee43 said, Mother earth will survive this, but i'd much rather have future generations thrive than simply survive....even if it hurts the bottom-line for awhile
