Flesh-Eating Bacteria Victim Sees Her Newborns

Lana Kuykendall, a new mother, was stricken with necrotizing fasciitis after giving birth to twins.

Lana Kuykendall, who was admitted to the hospital on May 11 due to a flesh-eating bacteria, has been upgraded to "fair" condition and was able to hold her newborn twins this week, WYFF reports.

After giving birth to her babies, Abigail and Ian, she admitted back into the hospital necrotizing fasciitis, a life-threatening condition.

Kuykendall underwent roughly 20 surgeries to stop the spread of the necrotizing fasciitis. Her family say she continues to improve, as she becomes more alert and less dependent on pain medication.
