Dining Hall at BJU Undergoing Renovations

The $6 million project will be completed in mid-August.

A multi-million dollar renovation to Bob Jones University's Dixon-McKenzie Dining Commons is expected to be completed mid-August.

The work began on May 6 and will cost nearly $6 million to complete, according to the school.

The facility was originally built in 1965. According to the school, the facility is one of the 10 largest dining facilities in the country operating under one roof.

The main dining room, known as the Varsity Room, is nearly the size of a football field. Once renovated, it will seat just over 1,100 at one time.

Through the renovations, the campus will be able to offer a variety of foods and healthier, fresher food options through an expanded deli, salad bar and international grill.
