Clemson Poll: Republicans Are Undecided

Michele Bachmann didn't change her message.

Rick Perry flubbed several debate opportuntiies.

And several women accused Herman Cain of sexual harassment.

The race to be former Gov. Mitt Romney's competition for the Republican nomination has had more twists and turns than a soap opera.

And the uncertainty has left South Carolina GOP voters with, well, uncertainty.

According to a new poll out today from Clemson University, 68 percent of likely Republican primary voters said they were unsure who they will support on Jan. 21 in the first-in-the-South primary.

“What South Carolinians think and who they back is historically important,” said Clemson University political scientist Dave Woodard in a release.

“Since 1980, the winner of the GOP South Carolina Primary has won the Republican nomination for president every time.”

And many of the 600 voters said they were planning to change their minds between now and the election.

“This indicates the electorate is still fluid,” said Clemson political scientist Bruce Ransom.

The lack of continued enthusiasm for Romney, whose support has remained stable for months but hasn't grown, also has been demonstrated in the launch of a new conservative website encouraging Republicans to vote for anyone but Romney.

Among those who had decided, the Clemson University 2012 Palmetto Poll showed Romney (22 percent) and Georgia businessman Cain (20 percent) leading the field. Coming next are former House Speaker Newt Gingrich (10 percent) and Gov. Perry (9 percent).

Rep. Ron Paul, former Gov. Jon Huntsman, Rep. Bachmann and former Sen. Rick Santorum all polled at 3 percent or lower.

Harry, I think Gov. Huntsman has the most experience, successful businessman, successful governor and experienced ambassador.

By the way, do you have any evidence that the attacks against Mr. Cain were generated from the Left? Also, I assume that you do not believe the 4 women?

Of course he has no evidence -- Cain first said Perry's campaign did it! The Republicans just don't seem to want to send their first team up to bat for this election. Wonder why? I recommend you vote for the candidate that supports the people, who supports capitalism with the right amount of necessary "regulations" , who supports balancing the budget fairly with reductions and taxes on those who can afford it -- President Barack Obama.

We need a President who believes in this Country and it’s Constitution. Who
Will represent our best interests rather than his own.
We need reform. Send our military home to protect OUR borders
Forget the foreign borders, they don’t appreciate us anyhow. I support a 10% flat tax across the board, and education reform at State level. Because of the abuse, welfare, Medicaid and other give away programs should be rethought, reformed or rejected entirely. Please watch this video:

I like Gingrich, Romney, and Paul.
Gingrich is a brilliant PHD historian who understands Washington from and before it's inception. His insight would be invaluable in making the right decisions for our
country. Romney for his business acumen and this country needs a business plan to get back on its feet. Paul for his wisdom, and bottom line approach to issues.

The present administration sucks. We have a vacationing president who takes full advantage of the tax paying working people of this country. Who do you think picks
Up the bill for his many vacations, including separate planes for his dog and entourage.
He goes on vacation while we’re losing our homes and our jobs.
If we're lucky, in 2012, we'll get an honest person, one we can be proud of to represent us. One who will put us first. God help us.
