Area Schools Compete in State Track Championships

Five area high schools competed in the 2013 Track & Field State Championships held at Lower Richland High Saturday.

In team rankings for Girls 3A, Eastside finished ninth with 24 points and Greer finished 11th with 21.5 points. In team rankings for Girls 4A, Wade Hampton and Riverside tied for 26th with six points.

In team rankings for Boys 3A, Greer finished 10th with 21 points, Eastside finished 20th with 14 points and Blue Ridge finished 35th with 2 points. In 4A, Wade Hampton finished 14 with 15 points and Riverside 23rd with 7 points.

Greer High finished in first place in the Boys 3A 4 X 400 meter relay. The team was comprised of D'Ante Flemming, Tedric Gregory, Dorian Lindsey and DeAndre Moren.

Riverside finished eighth in the Boys 4 X 800 meter relay. The team is made up of Dan Castello, Cameron Fowler, Thomas Garrigan and Ethan Dopp.

Wade Hampton High School finished eighth in the Girls 4 X 800 Meter Relay. Team members are Rebeka Fadgyas, Lauren Mecklenborg, London Miller and Amanda Ward.

In 3A, Boys 4 X 400 meter relay, Eastside finished in third place. Team members are Stephen Henderson, Zac Long, Alex Lucking and Shon Paul. Blue Ridge finished seventh. Team members are Forrest Hill, Rodney Johnson, Jordan Mills and Jacob Sua-Filo.

Eastside finished sixth in the Girls 4 X 800 meter relay. Team members were Rebecca Faircloth, Daride Ferguson, Heather Elliott and Catera Young.
